A BNSF Railway train caught fire after partially derailing around 1 a.m. Sunday near Burlington, North Dakota, about 15 miles south of Minot Air Base. Several cars with boxes carrying paper products and frozen food were engulfed in flames. Some wagons had hazardous materials, but they were not derailed and removed from the fire, according to the BNSF Railway. Many train cars continued to burn for hours after the derailment. The wet fields caused by the recently melted snow make it difficult for emergency crews to get to the spot.
