Party bikes, sometimes called pedal pubs or pedal bars, are minibuses with wheels that roam the cities. They are partly electric, controlled by a driver in front and partly powered by pedalists as they drink at the “bar”. The preliminary investigation revealed that 15 people were riding the bicycle. All 15 were injured and taken to nearby hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries, police said. Two of the passengers were seriously injured and three others were in critical condition, Atlanta Fire Brigade Chief Jason McClain told CNN’s WXIA. The driver of the bike, who has not been identified, has been charged with driving under the influence and was also charged with violating a professional license, police said.
