The provincial government welcomes Dr. Megan Hayes to her new role as Assistant Deputy Minister of Health Professional Recruitment and Retention. Prime Minister Andrew Fury made the announcement in Parliament in response to a question about healthcare posed by opposition leader David Brazil. Fouray told Parliament that the government and representatives of the NL College of Family Physicians had met with Dr. Hayes, who is familiar with farm practice, on Monday. “We understand the concerns out there and plan to address them, in the short, medium and long term,” says Furey.
