Things are going from bad to really awful in Episode 8, “I Am Not Alone”, a time that once again separates Mr. and Mrs. Fraser and puts Claire in mortal danger. Read below for the highlights of the hour. LARGE HOUSE UNDER SIEGE The episode begins where the previous one ended: Richard Brown and his “security committee” demand that Jamie hand over Claire in order to arrest her for Malva’s murder, otherwise things will get worse. Lizzie, Joe and Mrs. Bug run for help, leaving him and himself alone in the Big House. And very soon, the situation develops into a complete exchange of gunfire, with Claire and Jamie blocking the house and responding to the fire as they avoid the bullets of Brown’s men.

“He wanted this, not to arrest you, but to have an excuse to kill you,” Jamie grumbles to his wife as they try to stay alive. Eventually, Brown shakes a white handkerchief and approaches the house to say that they only want to take Claire to a nearby town called Salisbury, where there is a judge and a courthouse. But Jamie flatly refuses, firing Brown’s hat from his hand as a warning. So the Frasers broke into the bullet-riddled house they built, with Claire wondering if – if Jamie is right and the committee plans to set fire to the place when night falls – this is the night the obituary found by Roger and Brie becomes a reality. He points out that it is May and the newspaper excerpt reported that the fatal fire took place on Saturday before January 21st. But Jamie knows first hand how little you can trust the accuracy of what is printed on a generic sheet. So they settle down, anxious, and hope that reinforcements will come soon. They do not. So they talk and in their conversation, Jamie asks her: “How many times would you say that I was about to die?” They count it: in the abbey after Wentworth, during his post-Culloden fever, when Laoghaire tried to kill him, when he was bitten by a snake. And then, of course, there is the issue of when he was flogged with cigarettes. “You’re a difficult person to kill, I think,” Claire thinks. “This brings me great comfort.” Jamie tells a story about how a French fortune teller once informed him that he had nine lives, like a cat. Amused, Claire sleeps for a while. A KIND COMPROMISE Jamie wakes her up abruptly as the fishermen approach, holding torches. Hiram Crombie is in charge of the herd, which Jamie sees as a good sign: Hiram will not let them burn down the house. She’s there to negotiate, but the crowd just wants to see Claire squeezed. There are a lot of angry words and shaking fists, but in the end Hiram suggests to Jamie to go with Claire, to see her safe in the trial. Just then, the backup comes… but it’s the Ardsmuir men, and there are too few of them to really help. Jamie whispers to Claire that they should probably go with Brown, otherwise it will be a fight to the death. Just then, Tom Christie goes ahead and says he will travel with the team to assure that “nothing bad will happen”. Jamie agrees, they plan to leave in the morning and Jamie and Claire probably spend their last night at their house under guard. What do you do when you are terrified and have time to kill before dawn? Yeah Al that sounds pretty crap to me, Looks like Sam Huhan’s back prosthesis has been a bit more active this season, right? – and make love. When morning arrives, they pick them up in the back of a wagon and travel with Brown’s gang. WHEN TOM CHRIST IS YOUR BEST BET, YOU ARE IN PROBLEM | During a stop on the street, Tom brings Claire some food. She was surprised, but Jamie tells her to eat it, because it was given to him carefully. Leading Richard Brown, suddenly returns with the news: There is no other court in Salisbury. And because Jocasta is so connected to Cross Creek, which is the next nearest settlement, they will move on to Wilmington – which is 200 miles away. In all this, Tom looks at Claire and Jamie looks at Tom. If the show follows the example of the book here, it will prove to be important later. There is a lot more resentment as the team goes on its way and eventually, Jamie is left to pee. That’s when Ian finds him and tells him he’s close – with friends – and they will attack when Jamie gives the floor. Jamie tells him to hold on for now. But a little later, Brown’s men separate Jamie and Claire during a water stop, knock out Jamie and walk away with Claire. Brown reaches out to Mrs. Fraser, who is reasonably upset, and explains that he is not doing all this in revenge for Lionel. “My brother was a fan,” he said, calling Claire’s gang rape “cruel and unforgivable.” But he is a murderer, so, well, all this ridiculousness can not be tackled! As Claire bends over, Tom Christie climbs up and says he has Brown’s honor (pfft) that Jamie will not be killed. And so he will go with her, to ensure her safety. She shouts that she will hardly meet her eyes in the coming days. “He was clearly worried.” She suspects that she believes / knows that Jamie is dead and just does not want to tell her. GOD BLESS, JAN | They arrive in Wilmington and Claire is immediately thrown into jail. Tom slips a bag of coins at her. whispers that Jamie is alive and advises her to “Trust in God. It will free the righteous from danger. ” He also promises to stay in the city: You can trust him too. ” Unfortunately, this is the best news Claire has heard since DAYS. Meanwhile, Jamie is tied up in a position near the ocean. Brown’s men hit him alternately and inform him that they would take him on a ship that would leave for Scotland that day. “You will never see your wife’s witch again,” one swears. Another is about to hit Jamie with the tip of his gun, but receives an arrow in his torso before he can hit. Ian and Cherokee go up and slash Jamie’s kidnappers, all but the one with the gun to Jamie’s head. As Chief Byrd prepares to remove the man, Jamie stops him, shouting, “Don’t do it! Do it!” “She knows where Claire is.” Ian smiles. “So do we, aunt.” And with this standard, Chief Bird kills the man. “I told you I was going to fight you, Bear Killer,” he says with a smile. A HAPPY DISCOVERY Meanwhile, on the way to the seminar in Edenton – after a VERY cute moment when little Jamie crouches on his mom’s belly and says to his little brother: “Hello baby. I love you so much “- Brie realizes that the boy is itching in his head. It turns out he has lice. And when she and Roger cut his hair to get rid of the parasites, they realize that he has developed a nevus (or nevus) on his scalp. Roger is not bothered. is benign, and has one at about the same point. “It’s hereditary,” he says, and then there’s a rhythm where both Rog and Bree realize what Jemmy’s point can mean. Fortunately, Roger decides he wants to cut his own hair, and Brie does the trick. And that’s it!
