At least two people have been arrested in connection with the shooting, but several gunmen may have opened fire at the fairgrounds, according to Hinds County Sheriff Tyree Jones. An officer was also involved in the shooting, the sheriff said. The dead male victim, who was pronounced dead at the scene, has not yet been identified. The other victims were taken to local hospitals with injuries, officials said. “Other victims appear to be stable at this time and do not appear to be directly involved in the shooting or the circumstances that led to the shooting,” Jones said. Both arrested were minors, according to WJTV. #CONTINUE Sheriff Tyree Jones says three of the victims are in stable condition, yet there is no information on the fourth. Jones says there were two or three shooters. There is currently no motive for the shooting. The festival was the second installment of the Mudbug Festival, a crayfish with live music and other attractions. The 5-day event started on Wednesday and was scheduled to end on Sunday. It is unclear whether the festival will continue as scheduled on Sunday, according to WLBT 3. Five shots and one dead were confirmed at the Mudbug Festival on Saturday night. The sheriff is questioning two minors in the case. It is unknown if the festival will take place on Sunday. On Friday night at the festival, “American Idol” winner Laine Hardy canceled his performance due to “unforeseen personal responsibility”. Hardy was arrested Friday on charges of spying on his ex-girlfriend at Louisiana State University. He was released from prison later Friday afternoon.
