The closure between Hespeler Street and Townline Road will begin at 9:00 pm on Saturday, April 30th. The highway is scheduled to reopen at 10 a.m. on Sunday, May 1. All traffic will be bypassed and long delays are expected, the province said in a public statement. Drivers are advised to avoid the area. Traffic west on the 401 will be bypassed via the Beaverdale Road-Queen Street West junction. Traffic east will be bypassed along Hespeler Road to Pinebush and then Townline. The IPP will assist in the closure of the highway while the regional police will be present along the bypass routes. The project is part of a multi-year project that will see the 401 Cambridge motorway widened from six lanes to 10 lanes.
