The girl was attacked on a rural road near Napier Street in Johnstone around 22.20. Police were called to the scene and a short time later a young man was arrested. Police investigating the incident say their investigations are ongoing and have urged anyone with any information to contact them as soon as possible. A police spokesman confirmed the arrest. He said: “At around 10:20 pm on Saturday, police were called to report that a young man had sexually assaulted a young woman on a rural road near Napier Street in Johnstone. “A young man has been arrested in connection with the incident and investigations are ongoing. “Anyone with any information should contact the Police via 101 stating the incident number 3803 on Saturday, April 30, 2022.”
