Just kidding! Tell everyone. Please. Hello again and welcome back to the Backlog Club, our new and experimental feature that forces us to start looking at our “Pile of Shame” – games we haven’t been able to play or finished yet. It works a bit like a Book Club, as we will all play the same game every month (as voted by you!) And then get back together to discuss it – once at the end of two weeks, and again at the end of the month. Fun! Last month’s game was Slay The Spire, which you can read about if you want to catch up: But this month’s game, thanks to last month ‘s vote, is Earthbound, beating Undertale and Moon by 50% of you voting for it. Admittedly, I have played a bit of Earthbound. But that should give me the impetus I need to really get it done (Image: Kate Gray) Earthbound is a strange, unique and unparalleled game originally released on SNES in 1994 (Japan) and 1995 (North America). It has a dedicated fan base, but remains a cult favorite, with the well-known Japanese sequel Mother 3 being perhaps one of the most coveted Western releases in Nintendo’s gaming history. Earthbound itself, however, is quite widely available and describes in detail the adventures of Ness (a young boy you can name yourself) and his gathering of friends as they try to defeat Giygas, crossing a strange and wonderful world full of quirks. , monsters and problems to be solved. Your best bet to play Earthbound (if you have not already) is the Nintendo Switch Online service, which you can simply get for this month if you wish. It costs just $ 3.99 a month and you can play Earthbound as much as you want. Absolute chaos. (Image: Kate Gray)

Next month ‘s game

Good news: You can choose the game we will play in June – from a short list I decided, otherwise we would all never agree on something. In general, I like to choose a game that is readily available and, if possible, free, including those on the Xbox Game Pass and PlayStation Plus, as well as the Nintendo Switch Online service, so that everyone can participate without spending a lot of money. . It’s also nice to make the most of your subscriptions! Last month, the games I chose (Undertale, Moon and Earthbound) all had a lot in common – they are all weird RPGs and it all has to do with Toby Fox, the creator of Undertale who was heavily influenced by Moon and Earthbound. This month, the theme is “stylish adventure stories with murder mysteries in their hearts”, because I’m a sucker for a good detective. But what will it be? Tell us your opinion about the above games and playing Earthbound – is it your first time or will you repeat it to be able to participate in the fun? Backlog Club welcomes you all!
