Police received reports of a firearm being fired at around 12.15pm today (Sunday 1 May) on a house in Dingle. The window of the house in Maley Close was damaged, which was in line with the firing of a gun. People were in their homes, but no one was reported injured in the shooting. The suspected gunman is believed to have left on an electric scooter towards Peel Street. Police patrols will also continue in the area to reassure residents. Chief Inspector Detective Allison Woods said: “The investigation is in its early stages and there is a cordon. “Although no injuries have been reported, the rejection of a firearm is extremely reckless and dangerous. I would like to assure the local community that we are working to find those responsible and bring them to justice. “We have a zero-tolerance approach to anyone involved in the use, possession and storage of firearms, and we will relentlessly pursue anyone involved in this type of heinous crime.” A hole in the window of a house in Maley Close, Dingle. He added: “This incident took place in a residential area, so it is possible that there are people who may have seen the incident, seen someone acting suspiciously or know who is responsible.
