A total of 27 dogs, five cats, three horses, two donkeys, a guinea pig and a piglet were found at Norfolk County 19 East. Acting Sergeant Ed Sanchuk confirmed to CTV News that police were called to the scene around 11 a.m. Sunday after a passing driver spotted several animals in a ditch off the road and was unable to find their owner. Police did not provide details about the condition of the animals, but Sanchuk said the Ministry of General Animal Welfare was also called in to investigate. The investigation is ongoing.
