An Alabama woman was arrested Friday after a herd of dogs attacked and killed a government official investigating a dog attack earlier in the week, authorities said. The deadly attack happened when Jacqueline Summer Beard, an employee of the Alabama Department of Public Health, went to follow up on the alleged incident involving dogs belonging to Brandy Dowdy, the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office said. Dowdy’s dogs allegedly attacked a woman earlier last week. (Franklin County Sheriff’s Office) When lawmakers arrived on Crumpton Road, the sheriff’s office said they saw several dogs attacking residents, with one resident slightly injured. “Some of the dogs had to be euthanized immediately,” the sheriff’s office said.
