Black smoke could be seen miles away as a shed caught fire in Southport.  The Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service confirmed that they were called to a fire on Colchester Street around 5:20 p.m.  today (Sunday, May 1).  Crews rushed to the spot and were there for more than an hour and a half to put out the fire. 

The shed, about 10 meters x 10 meters, was “well lit” when fire trucks arrived at the house. The MFRS also confirmed that there was a occupant of the house at the site of minor burns. Smoke billowed into the sky as the fire raged before the fire brigade arrived. A MFRS spokesman confirmed to ECHO that firefighters arrived at the scene at 5.22 p.m. and left at 6.57 p.m. with the fire now extinguished. Read more related articles Read more related articles
