Police said the incident took place on a Metrolink traveling between Sale Waterpark and Manchester City Center on Tuesday (April 26th). The 14-year-old was later arrested and remains in custody. During the arrest, police found a large knife.

The suspect is being questioned by police. In a statement, Greater Manchester police said: “#gmptransportunit arrested a 14-year-old man following reports of a knife robbery on a Metrolink trip between Sale Waterpark and City Center on Tuesday 26. “A large knife was found during the arrest. The suspect is now in custody and is being questioned by police. “ Anyone with information is advised to contact the police at 101 or through its website.
