Emergency crews responded to the collision of two vehicles at the intersection of Bond Street and Kildare Avenue West at around 2:20 a.m., the Winnipeg Police Department said in a press release. The woman who was killed was driving one of the vehicles involved in the collision and had to be pulled over by the Winnipeg Fire Department. She was taken to hospital in critical condition and later died of her injuries, the statement said. A police video was seen surrounding a house in the area, with signs of footprints on the lawn leading to the backyard. The fence was torn down. The driver of the other vehicle and the occupants fled the scene, although police said they had interviewed several people who saw the incident.
